From Allan…

I don’t think of the below listed modalities as stand alone therapies, rather as therapeutic tools that are integrated into my massage to address each clients individual needs. I often times incorporate several therapies during a massage.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is designed to release tension that can be hidden in the deeper layers of the connective tissue and muscles. Deep massage techniques address adhesion’s, knots and reduced range of motion that occurs in the body. These techniques release toxins that are trapped in tissues and allows for new blood to flow to overworked, tight tissues and muscles.

Sports Massage

Using Deep Tissue techniques, Sports Massage is used to target muscles and joints commonly emphasized during repetitive actions, as well as focusing on a specific problem such as mobility issues, chronic pain, or injury. Sports Massage is great for any athletic person looking to prevent injuries from training routines and competitions, and helping keep the body at optimal function.

Trigger Point Therapy

“Trigger points” are best described as hyper-irritable points within a taut band of muscle that often give rise to referred pain. Trigger Point Therapy is a bodywork technique that involves applying deep compression to trigger points until the referral pattern lessens or dissipates completely. This is a more uncomfortable type of treatment, but all therapies can be accompanied by discomfort if an issue is present.
